As the in-house designer at Rocky View County, I was tasked with creating a vinyl wrap for Marigold Library System’s Satellite Library lockers, installed at the Bragg Creek Community Centre. The design needed to promote awareness of the service, integrate cleanly with the building’s interior, and include simple on-locker instructions to guide residents through the pickup process.
Working with full visual freedom, I included Marigold’s logo and selected supportive colours from their palette, but the overall design followed Rocky View County’s brand colours. After an initial bright, photo-based concept was rejected by the Bragg Creek Community Association for clashing with the hall’s aesthetic, I redesigned the wrap from the ground up. The final approach used a custom fractal pattern, which I created in Adobe Illustrator, built from the County's earth tone colours to blend with the space. Text elements were set in white for strong contrast and readability, and the pattern was kept large to avoid visual clutter.
Marigold provided locker templates, allowing me to design around touchscreens, seams, and door breaks. I supplemented these with on-site photos to build rough visual mockups. Once approved by Communications and the Community Association, I coordinated with WCD to produce and install the vinyl, managing scheduling with the community hall to ensure smooth access for installation.
The design was well received and has become a quietly distinctive feature of the community hall. The lockers continue to see regular use, and the neutral fractal concept now serves as a scalable visual template for future Satellite Library locations within the County.
